  Gibraltar

There are 30,000 people in Gibraltar. 1/3 of the population is Arab, 1/3 is Jewish and the rest is a mix of everything - a lot of Spanish-speaking and surprisingly little British. But the place is definitely influenced by being part of the UK. All items - hardware foods - comes from the UK. One would think that tomatoes are better across the border into Spain. It means in this case nothing, for they come to Gibraltar from the UK. The reason is a lot of exchange of currency. Each day passes that a large number of guest workers from Spain across the border, and the queues of cars and people are infinitely long in the morning and the afternoon.

A think like that Gibraltar is a completely tax-free zone, but it is not quite the case. There is a small income here - just the NOK to operate kindergartens, schools and little infrastructure to cultural and library. City buses are also free. It is compulsory here for everyone. The Jewish children attend, however, in their own schools. But when young people going into higher education must be to the UK.

Mailboxes are plenty of. They are suitably anonymous, and it is one and another box belonging to a company we know the name of ...

We focused a lot on that Gibraltar and the prestigious store for boating - Sheppard's - would be the way to all happiness according to finalize the boat's equipment. But where did we do wrong. In Gibraltar, the very limited range of goods. everything must be ordered, and it takes at least two weeks to get it delivered. It is not easy to deal with when you are installing a lot of equipment on the boat. It is not possible to plan down to every screw and centimeters. I've already had one trip to Estepona (1 hour and 30 minutes by bus from Gibraltar). There is little time, but the trip is ok. To my surprise, this trip costs no more than a single ticket with Oslo Public Transport in Oslo! Hooray for Norway!

Queensway Quay Marina is located just outside the "center" of Gibraltar. We have a walk of 10 minutes to get into the nucleus. It is nice for the other marina closest to the runway for planes. But when we have these 10 minutes we've actually gone through the whole of Gibraltar. Bigger is not! The monkeys on top of the cliff's a spectacular thing. They are peaceful and a nice touch. The stock is kept under control and there are 300 monkeys in 7 "families" for the moment.
